Antioxidants

Author- Dr. Michelle Plummer    Published-July 7th 2015

Free radical damage is constantly occurring in the body for various reasons.
A few big reasons oxidation occurs
  • Excessive sweets
  • Exercise
  • Metabolism
  • Too much sun
  • Smoking
  • Inflammation
  • Environmental pollution and toxins

To make a long story short free radicals are unstable molecules that are highly reactive because it is missing an electron.

It is important to consume antioxidants on a daily basis to prevent and minimize free radical damage in the body. Fruits such as berries and grapes have a lot of antioxidants and can also be energy boosters.

Constantly I am bombarded with people wanting chemical peels, dermabrasion and other services to help achieve a glow or reduce wrinkles. The bottom line is, if lifestyle and eating habits don't change the skin will look bland and have wrinkles from poor lifestyle choices causing free radicals.

Starting today I want to challenge everyone reading this to eat at least 1 cup a day of berries. Antioxidants prevent and/or help conditions such as cancer development, Alzheimers, Autoimmune and degenerative disorders.
